Dr Laila Raman-Abdulla
MBBCh( WITS) DipOphths(SA) MMed(OPHTH)(WITS) FCOphth(SA)

Dr Raman-Abdulla is a WITS graduate who qualified with a Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the College of Medicine SA in 2014. She then went on to complete a Masters degree in ocular cancer research through WITS University in 2016. She is a skilled General Ophthalmologist and currently splits her time between the private and public sector. She is a senior consultant at Leratong Hospital where she enjoys training young doctors and has teamed up with the Islamic Medical Association SA  to run a charitable camp that assists underprivileged blind patients to receive their cataract surgery timeously. Her ability to bring compassion and kindness into everything she does is what defines her as a surgeon.

Ms Anne Van Rooyen

Practice Manager

Ann Van Rooyen has been working in the medical field for over 15 years.  She has gained experience in the operating theatre and also has been involved in nursing care in various disciplines.

She currently dedicates her time to Ophthalmology and finds the discipline captivating. Anne has been the practice manager at Dr Raman-Abdulla’s rooms for 4 years and finds it very interesting.

Her main focus is on patient eye care, and most of all patient satisfaction.

She has a Diploma in Practice Management from the Dalmor Medical Institute and is currently completing her studies as an Ophthalmic Assistant.

Her  goal for the future is to grow within the scope of Ophthalmology , make a difference for the patients within the community.
